At PostNord we adapt to the situation on the Danish letter market. We now take the next step to build a strong PostNord for the future. As from 2026, PostNord will stop handling letters in Denmark and focus on becoming the Danes’ favorite parcel delivery service.

PostNord is working closely with its partners to tackle some of the most pressing challenges in e-commerce logistics, from decarbonization to circularity.

When talking about the fuel driving the transition to a fossil-free future, PostNord means this in the most literal sense. To bring fossil emissions down quickly, PostNord is increasing the use of biofuels such as HVO and biogas, especially in heavy-duty trucks.  

Across the Nordics, electric vans are being successfully deployed as part of PostNord’s efforts to reduce climate impact. In Finland, a significant step towards is being taken with an ambitious pilot project aimed at testing and introducing electric heavy-duty trucks. 

Electrification of the vehicle fleet is crucial to PostNord’s green transition, but without adequate charging infrastructure, the climate targets remain out of reach. The installation of the new fast charger in Finland marks a significant step in overcoming this challenge. 

This year, we celebrate our 400th anniversary, marking an extraordinary journey that began with King Christian IV’s establishment of the Danish postal system in 1624. This milestone honors a legacy of innovation, adaptability and great service for the oldest postal service in Scandinavia.
